Hydrogeologic Field Investigation and Groundwater Flow Model of the
Southern Willamette Valley, Oregon.
M.S. Thesis project of Jeremy Craner, OSU Geosciences
Jeremy constructed a 3-D computer model of groundwater flow and contaminant transport within the GWMA and surrounding areas, using a program called GMS-MODFLOW. This model should help us to understand some of the issues to be addressed within the GWMA.

- See the model's predictions in answer to three sample questions about groundwater flow in the Southern Willamette Valley.
- How long does nitrate take to move from one point to another within the Valley?
- In what direction and how fast do we expect nitrate to travel in the Bottom Loop Road area of Coburg?
- What are the effects of groundwater pumping on local groundwater and surface water?
